  • Blair Macintyre

    Director, Chartered Architect

    Blair Macintyre founded BWMA with a clear ambition: to bring Scandinavian context and clarity to contemporary architecture. A Scottish Chartered Architect and a member of ARB,RIAS and RIBA, he has extensive professional experience shaped by working across the Nordic countries and studying principles of American and Japanese modern living.

    As Director and founder of the practice, Blair leads the design vision across all projects. His work is grounded in proportion, material integrity and longevity, reflecting a belief that architecture should feel calm, purposeful, quietly confident yet characterful. Blair guides each project from initial concept through to completion.

  • Michael McEwan

    Senior Architectural Assistant

    Michael has been with BWMA for over five years and holds a Master of Architecture (MArch) and a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons) in Architectural Technology.

    He is an established and integral member of the practice, bringing depth and a strong blend of creative and technical expertise across a wide range of projects and sectors.

    As a Senior Architectural Assistant, Michael plays a key role in developing thoughtful, well-resolved design concepts and translating them into detailed, buildable solutions. He combines clear design thinking with technical precision, ensuring that projects are both visually compelling and deliverable. His knowledge and coordination skills support the successful progression of projects from early design concepts through to delivery.

  • Aimee Florence Jackson

    Architectural Assistant, Designer & Maker

    Aimee has been part of BWMA for over a year and holds a Masters qualification in Architecture (MArch) from The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. She is recognised within the practice for her consistency, precision and disciplined approach to project support.

    Aimee refines drawings, coordinates documentation and safeguards details across all stages of delivery. Her steady focus ensures that each project is delivered with clarity and accuracy.

  • Joe Inman

    Architectural Assistant, Designer & Maker

    Joe joined BWMA in 2024 and holds a Masters of Architecture (MArch) from The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. He brings a highly creative and visionary perspective to the practice, contributing energy and originality to the early stages of each project.

    Working closely with the Director, Joe develops spatial concepts, models and visual studies that explore and refine the client brief throughout the process.  Joe’s strengths lie in shaping compelling ideas and helping clients clearly visualise the potential of their project before it progresses into technical delivery.

  • Fennella Rogalewska

    Practice Manager & In-House Interior Designer

    Fennella is Practice Manager and In-House Interior Designer. Working closely with the Director and clients, she leads the interior direction of projects, shaping spaces through a considered use of colour, materiality and detail to create interiors that are both distinctive and deeply personal.

    With over ten years’ experience in senior administration, she also oversees client communication, programme coordination and the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring each project is delivered with clarity, discretion and precision. Fennella guides clients seamlessly from initial enquiry through to project completion.

Who We Are

BWMA is an architectural practice in Aberdeen, Scotland, delivering thoughtful and contemporary design across private residential, hospitality and bespoke commercial projects. Alongside new-build architecture, we carefully adapt and rework existing buildings, improving flow, performance and usability whilst respecting the integrity of the original structure. Rooted in Scandinavian principles of simplicity, material honesty and calm living, our practice brings together a creative vision to deliver architecture that feels purposeful.

Attention to detail continues throughout every phase of a project, from concept and planning through to technical delivery and completion on site. As an architectural practice with an in-house interior design service, we take a cohesive approach to shaping both the building and the spaces within it. We create interiors that feel balanced, personal and connected to the architecture as a whole.

At every scale, BWMA is defined by a disciplined and client focused approach; where we believe in developing a friendly and collaborative environment between client and architect. We extend this to our work with specialist consultants striving to provide consistency throughout the design and construction process.
