Broomhill Studio

A much-loved existing willow tree anchored the design. The building is set around it to harmonise with the natural surroundings. The result is a quiet, flexible space, grounded in its setting.

Simple materials connect the building to the garden - local quarry dust paths and Corten steel planting beds sit in contrast to charred European larch cladding.

Every detail and every angle was carefully considered to maximise the setting. The result is seamless flow from garden to studio which caught the eye of the judges and won a commendation award at the Aberdeen Society of Architects Awards.
