Wall House,
Banchory
Set within a mature woodland landscape, this contemporary single-storey home is designed to sit naturally within its surroundings, embracing the site's contours and existing trees. Drawing on Scandinavian and Scottish architectural influences, the design prioritises sustainability, connection to nature, and long-term adaptability while creating light-filled, energy-efficient living spaces.
A defining feature of the home is its natural stone spine walls, which anchor the building within the landscape and provide privacy, shelter, and a strong architectural identity. These robust stone elements help organise the living spaces, create a sense of permanence, and reinforce the home's harmonious relationship with its environment through the use of timeless, locally inspired materials.B W Macintyre Architects Visual Animation
